Food & Water Watch Monthly Meeting w/ Rep Joe Salazar!

January 18 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

We didn’t ask to be heroes, but here we are:
If we don’t have a vision of a much better future and begin a massive organizing effort to achieve it, who will? We will be left without a democracy and with a greatly diminished natural world racked with chaotic weather and marked by even more inequities. And without a major push for public policy changes, we will not move into a renewable energy future. ~ Wenonah Hauter, Frackopoly

We are excited to announce our monthly meeting will be an information, planning and pre-launch meeting for Clean Energy For All Colorado, aka the 2018 “Colorado Renewable Energy and Job Creation Act,” which will move Colorado justly to 100% clean energy by 2035!

Join State Representative Joe Salazar, Elizabeth Murphy of the Colorado People’s Alliance (COPA), and Food & Water Watch Colorado (FWW) to help plan the launch of the “Colorado Renewable Energy and Job Creation Act” of 2018. Representative Salazar will inspire with why he chose to sponsor this important bill. Afterward, we will begin the work of planning the upcoming launch at the capital! We need you to join us, as we make heroes of us all!

This will be the STRONGEST, most VISIONARY and JUST climate bill EVER introduced to the Colorado state legislature, and we need you to come help us make history! Yes, you! We need all hands on deck here, to help us plan the launch event at the capital and make this amazing social and environmental justice bill into a local hero movement! We have tasks for extroverts, introverts, and everyone in between!

FWW, COPA and Salazar have worked hard on drafting this remarkable bill to make sure we’re not just tackling moving Colorado off fossil fuels by 2035, but also raising up our most vulnerable communities to the forefront of this fight. It is written to ensure communities of color and working class communities will have access to the resources and jobs necessary to create this remarkable change in Colorado.

Can we count on you to be a hero in our energy revolution in Colorado? Can you bring a friend or two? Please join us and share this invitation with people you know!

Festivities include speakers, snacks, group activities, and sign up/activity stations for things like:
Photo Petitions
