On November 2nd, the Boulder Housing Coalition (a 501(c)3 non-profit) will be going before Boulder’s Planning Board, asking to be allowed to have more than 12 people in a 12 bedroom co-op that will occupy a 4600 square foot house in South Boulder. There will be a public hearing. They need you to come and show your support for the proposal, so that low-income single parents can live in this community without having to rent a whole bedroom for each of their children. This co-op will be permanently affordable, serving folks making less than 50% of the area median income. Allowing more people to share this enormous house will also reduce rents for the folks who live there, and the amount of energy and water that each resident uses.
Whether or not you can make it in person we once again need you to reach out via email with positive messages about this kind of shared living — especially with stories about living with or wanting to live with kids in community. Please write to: firstname.lastname@example.org and BCC: email@example.com
We expect it to be a long night. If you show up right at 5:30pm to sign up to speak, you’ll be able to leave earlier too!
