Museo de las Americas upcoming exhibition, Las (H)adas, will feature site-specific installations by five Colorado Latina artists – Judy Miranda, Ana María Hernando, Jessica Luna (+), Arlette Lucero, and Meggan De Anza. The exhibition will run from October 12, 2017 – January 14, 2018.
The exhibition is celebrating local Chicana artists who have been working in their communities as activists, educators, and artists for the last 30 years. In hopes to provide a platform that opens a dialogue to strengthen the ideas surrounding women of color. Museo will be overtaken by large-scale installations that depict the multifaceted identities of women. Colorado Coalition Against Domestic Violence will be contributing a community installation of 1,000 butterflies that will carry the voices of women that have suffered and persevered from the hands of domestic violence.
Free and open to the public.
