Seeds & Weeds – Crew Leader and Weed Warrior Training

March 3 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

This fun single day training is an opportunity for volunteers to become crew leaders for our Noxious Weed Removal projects and Native Seed Collections in 2018 and beyond. This training will ALSO give you the basis to become an independent “Weed Warrior!”; an elite crew of unsupervised weed vigilantes.. well vigilante is perhaps a bit exaggerated.. but these folks lead small crews of their own without WRV Staff field supervision.

Seed collections are some of the most relaxing WRV projects a crew leader can engage in, Weed pulls can be anywhere from relaxing to extreme! No experience necessary, we will train you in:

– Leadership skills for engaging with and managing your crew
– Native seed and noxious weed identification and ecological significance
– Proper seed collection and weed eradication techniques
– And MORE!

Most of our seed collections and many weed pulls are 3-4 hours long and close to our offices so the time commitment is minimal and the scenery is often dramatic!

Crew Leaders are essential to the success of our projects. The weeds we remove and the seed we collect is very important for restoring our public lands. Come join us for this crew leader training and have a great time leading crews this summer!

This FREE course includes a commitment to leading at least 2 seed collections and/or weed pulls this season. Trust us, you’ll have a great time and learn valuable skills!
