Blue Sky or Blackout: How Resilience Hubs Support Communities in New Orleans, and Beyond
When: Sept 30, 6pm
Dónde: Virtual
Solar power can offset higher energy costs, especially when paired with battery backup. That battery can also power a building during power outages, creating resilience. These energy resilience hubs are important community resources due to the increasing impacts of climate change. EOF received a grant from Clean Energy Group to develop and distribute information about energy resilience, meaning solar plus storage (battery, not fossil fuel), especially for communities that are considered disproportionately impacted.
Our featured guest, Bianchi Hughes, Director of Disaster Relief for Together Louisiana will tell us about the ‘Lighthouse Project” in New Orleans, a project we think is a great model. The EOF Resilience Hub team and guest Moshe Kornfeld, Founder & Executive Director of Colorado Jewish Climate Action, will share what we’ve learned, and what we hope to achieve, here in our communities.
