Empower Hour: Protecting Climate, Health & Equity from More Gas Pipelines
When: Jan 13, 6pm
Dónde: Virtual
The Gas Infrastructure Plan (GIP) proposal submitted by Xcel Energy’s Public Service Co. to Colorado’s Public Utilities Commission appears destined to miss 2030 Clean Heat targets because it defaults to extending gas service for both new and existing customers and lacks substantial movement toward non-pipeline alternatives (NPAs).
Expert panelists listed below will share their perspectives on the issues and what can be done:
Lauren Swain – Physicians for Social Responsibility Colorado Program Director
Patricia Garcia Nelson – GreenLatinos Colorado Fossil Fuel Just Transition Advocate
Charles Kutscher, Ph.D. – Colorado Renewable Energy Society policy committee
Tracey Bernett – Former state legislator and prime sponsor of the “Clean Heat” bill
Learn how you can add your voice to the feedback the PUC receives at a virtual hearing on 1/20/26.
