Engaged Buddhism: Invitation to Join in Silent Protest

We are concerned world citizens and members of Shambhala looking for like minds to protest the rise of fascism in our country.

This protest is in line and inspired by Thich Nhat Hanh’s “Engaged Buddhism” to describe a path of practice that does not separate inner awakening from compassionate action in the world. He wrote “realizing the interdependent and impermanent nature of life calls us to relieve suffering wherever it appears— through kindness, social engagement and even resistance to injustice.”

We’ll bring the signs to hold. But think of your own too. We hope to have time and materials to make additional signs as we gather and ready.
