SUMMARY:Motus Theater Presents: 4th Annual Dr. King Jr. Performance with Motus & The ReMINDers
DESCRIPTION:Motus Theater Presents: 4th Annual Dr. King Jr. Performance with Motus & The ReMINDers\nWhen: Jan 19\, 3pm\nWhere: Dairy Arts Center\nTICKETS HERE!\n\nThe ReMINDers are a rare and remarkable musical duo with undeniable magical chemistry\, The ReMINDers transcend the bounds of expectation to uplift and entertain. They seamlessly blend razor-sharp rhythms and raw\, soulful vocals with reggae-tinged hip-hop beats to highlight their relevant and inspiring messages. The couple shares a partnership in both music and life as Samir and Aja have been married for over a decade. The ReMINDers have been recognized and applauded for their work internationally through concerts\, tours\, music awards\, and TV and radio appearances. They have shared the stage with artists such as Nas\, Big Boi\, and Ms. Lauryn Hill. \nMotus Theater’s Youth Behind & Beyond Bars: Stories from the Frontlines of the Juvenile Legal System brings powerful\, artistically-crafted personal stories from adults who survived incarceration as youth. This moving autobiographical performance lifts the curtain on the realities of the juvenile legal system while inspiring action toward true justice. The script for this performance was written by Motus Artistic Executive Director Kirsten Wilson based on writings\, conversations\, and reflections of Lorenzo Allen\, Durrel Bumphus\, Lawrence Hershel Goshon\, Raymond Johnson\, Juaquin Mobley\, Michael Rollerson\, and Big Shakur (James Williams). \nMotus Theater facilitates dialogue on critical issues of our time by creating original theater. Motus’ work leverages the power of art to build alliances across diverse segments of our community and country. We specialize in developing artfully crafted personal narratives with leaders on the frontlines of violence in the U.S.\, putting them center stage as the protagonists in the American drama.

SUMMARY:Solidarity Mobilizations: a 2-part training on showing up for immigrant communities
DESCRIPTION:Solidarity Mobilizations: a 2-part training on showing up for immigrant communities\nWhen: Jan 20\, 6pm-7:15pm \nWhere: Virtual \nREGISTER HERE! \n\n\n\nAcross the country\, immigrant communities are under attack and authoritarian forces are gaining ground. But there’s a growing movement of people ready to take action with clarity\, courage\, and discipline. This training is for all of us who want to stand up in solidarity\, especially those of us who are white who are ready to organize\, respond\, and show up with commitment and care. \nJoin us for Solidarity Mobilizations\, a powerful two-part training series hosted by Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ) and Solidarity Organizing Initiative (SOI). We’ll break down the political moment we’re in\, the authoritarian playbook driving these attacks\, and the role those of us who are white and/or citizens can play in pushing back effectively and strategically. \nEach session will have live transcription and will be recorded. The recording will be sent out to everyone who registers within 48 hours after each session. \nIn the first session\, you will: \n\nLearn to recognize and anticipate “Moments of Crisis” — and why they’re central to the authoritarian strategy\nUnderstand how direct support and crisis response work together in immigrant justice organizing\nGet grounded in the principles of strategic noncooperation and how it builds people power\n\nIn the second session\, you will: \n\nLearn how to provide direct support for immigrant communities\nGet clear on next steps you’re taking in your community\n\nWhether you’re brand new or have been in the fight for years\, this training will give you political clarity\, strategic tools\, and an invitation to join us in deeper solidarity. This is just the beginning\, let’s get ready together. \n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:Measuring Recycled Content: The Fine Print That Shapes EPR
DESCRIPTION:Measuring Recycled Content: The Fine Print That Shapes EPR\nWhen: Jan 22\, 2pm \nWhere: Zoom \nREGISTER HERE! \nAs states implement new Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) programs for packaging\, one complex but crucial issue is emerging: how recycled content is measured. The plastics industry is increasingly promoting mass balance accounting — a system that allows producers to claim “recycled” content on paper without physically using recycled materials. \nJoin us as we break down how these accounting methods work\, what’s unfolding in Colorado’s EPR implementation\, and why getting this right is essential to protecting recycling integrity and driving real waste reduction.

SUMMARY:Climate Grief\, Spiritual Resilience\, and Hope
DESCRIPTION:Climate Grief\, Spiritual Resilience\, and Hope\nWhen: Feb 1\, 1:30pm-3:30pm \nWhere: Congregation Har HaShem \nREGISTER HERE! \nThe Symposium will focus on bringing people together to explore perspectives on environmentalism from faith and spiritual traditions. We bring forward teachers\, academics\, faith-based activists in dialogue and shared learning. Our hope: greater understanding leading to greater engagement in acts of environmental protection and justice. \nThis year\, we welcome Rev. Dr. Allen Ewing-Merrill\, Executive Director of the BTS Center. \n“Inspired by the vision of human hearts renewed\, justice established\, and creation restored\, we are paying particular attention to deep and important questions about global climate crisis and the ways in which that must inform and transform spiritual practice and faith leadership — and of course\, how ecological devastation also intersects with other issues of social justice\, spirituality\, and the practice of faith.” – Rev. Dr. Allen Ewing-Merrill

SUMMARY:Symposium on Spirituality and the Environment 2026
DESCRIPTION:Symposium on Spirituality and the Environment 2026:Climate Grief\, Spiritual Resilience\, and Hope\nWhen: Feb 1\, 1:30-3:30pm\nWhere: Congregation Har Hashem\nREGISTER HERE!\n\n\nNo longer can we think of climate change as something that’s off in the future — scientists’ prediction of something that is coming. We are living in a climate-changed world. Where shall we find the wisdom we need for the living of our days? How shall we think about hope now? And what practices might we embrace to nurture the spiritual resilience we need for this season that is so fraught with challenges and so filled with opportunity? \nDuring this year’s Symposium on Spirituality and the Environment\, Rev. Dr. Allen Ewing-Merrill\, Executive Director of The BTS Center\, will invite us to explore the psycho-social-spiritual dimensions of the climate crisis\, the array of climate emotions — climate anxiety\, ecological grief\, and moral injury — as well as the invitation to practices of gratitude\, wonder\, and hope. We’ll consider how Creation invites us into relationships as healer\, teacher\, and friend. \nWe hope you join us as we navigate this turbulent & uncertain time in all our lives. \nWe’ll be gathering together in person. This program will also be livestreamed on our YouTube channel.

SUMMARY:Igniting Liberation for All: Widening Our Circles
DESCRIPTION:Igniting Liberation for All: Widening Our Circles\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhen: Feb 3\, 6pm-8pm\nWhere: Virtual\nREGISTER HERE!\n\n\n\nLight the way into 2026’s Year of the Fire Horse – join a 2-hour immersive practice for renewal\, connection\, and collective liberation.\n\n\n\nWith the time of midwinter and the approach of the Year of the Fire Horse\, the invitation to set our intentions for our individual and collective work is upon us. While the past year may have felt the heaviness of the world and chose to look inward and perhaps even go underground\, now is the time to alight our connections with all sentient beings.  The work of liberation requires going beyond our boundaries of comfort and needs to include all beings. During this two-hour webinar session\, we will engage in lecture\, practice\, and experiential exercise that support widening our circles for collective liberation. Participants should be prepared to work with challenging material\, encounter difficult and joyful emotions\, engage in experiential practices including meditation and dialogue\, and to be in respectful\, compassionate community.
