SUMMARY:BCAA Business of Arts: Felder Improv Workshop
DESCRIPTION:BCAA Business of Arts: Felder Improv Workshop\n\n\n\n\nWhen: April 24\, 11:30am-1pm\nWhere: Mi Chantli – Art and Movement Sanctuary\nREGISTER HERE!\n\n\nCrazy times call for artists and leaders prepared to think flexibly and outside the box. Strengthen your ability to communicate\, lead\, and collaborate in this experiential and welcoming improv workshop. \nPart of a series called Embracing [Musical] Space\, this session guides participants through movement exercises\, word association games\, and group composition to empower their voices\, leadership\, collaborative ability\, and creativity. \nWhether participants are beginners or experienced improvisers\, the exercises (such as ostinatos formed from the rhythmic content of participants’ names) are designed to highlight everyone’s unique talents and abilities. Everyone enters as a teacher and learner. \n\n\n\nNicholas Felder (he/him) is a Black queer artist\, composer-vocalist\, activist\, and educator who creates art around identity\, communal joy and healing\, and youth empowerment.  He builds community in artmaking\, unlocking truths around self-identity\, and creates a space for embodied expression. Nicholas has led educational programs and workshops with numerous arts organizations\, such as the Detroit Symphony Orchestra\, American Composers Orchestra\, the Denver Young Artists Orchestra\, and Sphinx Organization. He loves to encourage young adults to express their social and political views through artmaking. \nAn active composer and collaborator\, Nicholas has had his works performed nationally by ensembles\, such as the Hawai’i Youth Symphony\, Mivos Quartet\, Kennesaw State University Symphony Orchestra\, DC Youth Orchestra Program\, and University of Michigan Converge Quartet. \nNicholas is currently earning his Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Music Composition at the University of Colorado Boulder. SUMMARY:Grief and Resistance Ritual
DESCRIPTION:Grief and Resistance Ritual\nWhen: April 26\, 1pm-2:30pm \nWhere: Boulder Creek near Main Library \nLEARN MORE HERE! \nPlease join us for a community ceremony honoring our personal and collective grief and giving voice to our resistance. \nThis year has brought profound losses\, both personal and collective – the loss of loved ones\, the devastations of wars and genocide\, of attacks and imprisonment of immigrants\, of wild fires\, floods and drought\, of beloved species disappearing\, of racism and gender violence. \nWe gather to honor these losses. Our grief is an expression of love. \nGrieving and singing together helps us build our collective power and remember that we shine brighter when we act together. It is through honoring and sharing our grief that we sustain our resilience and create the energy and aliveness for what is needed next. \nWe welcome all who will join us in peace and ceremony. We welcome you as you are: afraid\, angry\, sad\, numb\, unsure\, and those carrying more than words can hold. \nIf you wish\, please bring something to offer to the creek – a flower\, a stone\, something that will not cause harm to the ecology.

SUMMARY:After We March\, We Organize! Solidarity Warriors Indivisible Action Group
DESCRIPTION:📢✊ After We March\, We Organize! 🔥 Solidarity Warriors Indivisible Action Group 🗽\nWhen: Wednesdays\,  6pm-7:30pm \nWhere: Virtual \nREGISTER HERE! \nMass demonstrations like 🚫👑 No Kings prove one thing beyond doubt: the people are AWAKE and FIRED UP! 🔥 But rallying in the streets is just the beginning. The real power comes from what we do after the march. Research shows that no movement with 3.5% of the population in continuous mobilization has ever failed 📊 — but only when they go beyond demonstrations into mass noncooperation\, noncompliance\, and strategic action that dismantles the pillars holding up authoritarianism. That’s exactly what we’re here to build. 🛠️ Come learn the organizing skills we wish we had known from the start — and let’s transform that protest energy into lasting\, unstoppable change. 💪 \n📚🎤 Every week we feature guest speakers and training on topics like: \n🛡️ How to Protest Safely 🌎 Immigrant Rights 🪶 Indigenous History 🔐 Cybersecurity ✊ Community Organizing Tactics and much more! \n🌟 About Solidarity Warriors: We’re an action-focused\, Indivisible group 💥 born after the November election and proud lead organizers of No Kings 2 in Denver 🏔️. We’re people from across the nation — many in Colorado — united by one commitment: action over grievance. 🎯 We don’t just talk about what’s wrong — we plan\, organize\, and partner with marginalized communities to make things right. ✊🏽 \n🚨 Come ready to answer one question: What are YOU going to DO? 👉 Join us. The movement needs you. 🗽✊🔥

DESCRIPTION:Words Before All Else: The Haudenosaunee Greetings to the Natural World\nWhen: May 12\, 7pm-9pm \nWhere: Boulder Unitarian Universalist Church \nREGISTER HERE! \nThis program features a beautiful 20-minute film about the traditional prayer\, “Words Before All Else\,” which is central to the spiritual and cultural beliefs of the Six Nations of the Haudenosaunee (also known as the Iroquois). Their daily prayer gives thanks to Mother Earth\, Elder Brother Sun\, Grandmother Moon\, water\, animals\, plants\, and all other living things. \n\nThis film interpretation was produced by Dave Bowden of the Sustainable Media Network\, also CRES’s 2004 president. \nAfter the video\, Martin Ogle\, founder of Geo Sapiens\, will explore how this daily prayer of gratitude inspires and guides our actual work for revitalizing our human relationship with Earth and how energy flows through the web of Life. \nThis event is hosted by the Colorado Renewable Energy Society\, co-sponsored by the Sustainable Media Network and Geo Sapiens. \nJoin us in person at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Boulder (5001 Pennsylvania Ave\, Boulder\, CO 80303).
