Ask yourself “What can I do?” You can be part of the solution! Have fun learning all kinds of simple acts we can all take to create more sustainable communities and this beautiful planet we share! \nOur precious planet is like a spaceship out in space. We only have so much water\, air\, resources that will NOT be re-supplied! The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) states that over 40% of our greenhouse emissions come from the way products are extracted\, produced\, transported\, and gotten rid of (even recycling takes energy). They also say that striving for zero waste is one of the easiest and quickest ways to fight climate change! \n“Spaceship earth is not really a metaphor: we’ve got one planet\, and it’s experiencing unprecedented mechanical difficulties. Join CU Boulder Dean John-Michael Rivera\, City of Boulder arts leaders\, and the CU and Boulder arts community on April 8 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Museum of Boulder for a community meeting and networking event. \nFollowing up on the meeting we held in Fall 2025\, we continue to work to provide a space for CU students\, faculty\, and staff to meet with artistic leaders within our community. Boulder County is filled with creative minds\, and through this gathering\, we wish to provide an opportunity to highlight and uplift all that we can build together. We want to continue talking about how CU can partner more closely with community arts organizations through internships\, special projects and other creative ventures. \nThis event we will feature a panel discussion with university and community partners on engaging CU with the arts on and off campus. Panelists include Emily Zinn\, Education Director of the Museum of Boulder; Wendy Franz\, Managing Director of Colorado Shakespeare Festival\, and Matt Cottle Operations Director at Roots Music Project to explore how to better engage student audiences\, support cultural participation\, and build lasting partnerships between Boulder’s creative sector and CU. \nLight refreshments will be provided. As the glacial ice of his homeland melts\, he constructs a cinematic time capsule to hold onto this moment and send it to the future\, before everything he loves slips away. Using his own collected archives\, his grandparents’ photographs and films\, as well as traditional songs and folktales\, Andri interlaces his family’s story with that of the land around him. Enjoy a leisurely ride along Boulder’s beautiful greenways and bike paths\, highlighting City projects and improvements along the creek corridors. Led by passionate and knowledgeable docents\, we’ll visit environmentally-themed murals created by local and national artists during the Street Wise Mural Festival. Learn more about our murals and how they relate to local water issues. The tour features guest speakers from the City of Boulder as well as Street Wise artists! \nRegistration required. Limited to 16 riders. Tours run for approx. 2 hours and begin and end at VisionQuest Brewery. \nTour participants must bring their own bikes; Street Wise Arts does not provide bikes. If you need to rent a bike\, we recommend Boulder BCycle! \nNote: Street Wise Arts reserves the right to cancel tours that do not meet the minimum tour size of 2 people or due to inclement weather.
