SUMMARY:Spaceship Earth Multimedia Presentation Boulder Arts Week!
DESCRIPTION:Spaceship Earth Multimedia Presentation Boulder Arts Week!\nWhen: April 6\, 5:30-6:30pm \nWhere: Junkyard Social Club \nLEARN MORE HERE! \nJoin us for Boulder Arts Week and celebrate the 56th Anniversary of Earth Day in this wonderful space that is woman owned and LGBTQ+ friendly at Junkyard Social Club in beautiful Boulder\, Colorado! \nAs a musician and activist\, I will be sharing my multimedia presentation with art\, photography\, science and live music (Laurie D) I created in 2012\, Spaceship Earth: What Can I Do? Ask yourself “What can I do?” You can be part of the solution! Have fun learning all kinds of simple acts we can all take to create more sustainable communities and this beautiful planet we share! \nOur precious planet is like a spaceship out in space. We only have so much water\, air\, resources that will NOT be re-supplied! The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) states that over 40% of our greenhouse emissions come from the way products are extracted\, produced\, transported\, and gotten rid of (even recycling takes energy). They also say that striving for zero waste is one of the easiest and quickest ways to fight climate change! \n“Spaceship earth is not really a metaphor: we’ve got one planet\, and it’s experiencing unprecedented mechanical difficulties. This presentation helps remind us how we can do our part to get it back on course.” – Bill McKibben best selling author and founder of 350.0rg \n“Laurie’s “What Can I Do?” Spaceship Earth is powerful!” – Jared Polis – Governor Colorado \n“This woman taught me more in an hour performance about what I can do to help save our planet than I’ve learned in the past 10 years!” – Stacy

SUMMARY:Community Practice Day: The Earth Is My Witness
DESCRIPTION:Community Practice Day: The Earth Is My Witness\nWhen: March 3\, 8:15am-4:30pm \nWhere: Naropa University\, Nalanda Campus \nRSVP HERE! \nJoin us on March 3\, 2026\, for Community Practice Day—a day when classes and meetings are not held\, and when we gather together in virtual and in-person community. For our Spring 2026 Community Practice Day\, the theme is The Earth Is My Witness. \nAs spring emerges\, we gather for Community Practice Day\, to honor this sacred reciprocity between self and planet\, between awakening and care\, we are invited to remember what the Buddha knew on the night of his awakening: that the Earth bears witness. In that moment of doubt and clarity\, when he placed his hand upon the ground\, the Earth did not remain silent. She rose to meet him—steady\, alive\, saying\, I am here. I have always been here. \nThis gesture lives in each of us. When we touch the Earth\, the Earth touches back. In our moments of courage and grief\, of awakening and action\, we are not alone. The living world holds us as witness—in quiet recognition of our shared becoming.

DESCRIPTION:A Return to the Earth: Module 1 Cultural Perspectives\nWhen: Jan 10\, 1:30-3pm \nWhere: Virtual \nREGISTER HERE! \nModule One defines culture and expands and elaborates upon cultural perceptions as they relate to our personal lives and the lives of our ancestors and how that affects us today. \nWe will probe deeply into common and personal landscapes of culture and what this means as we move toward being decolonized people. As human beings we mirror each other and long to connect\, to interact\, to create relationship with\, to live with a sense of belonging and a sense of shared “commons\,” a place where we fully realize that “other” is essential for self-fulfillment as a human being. We need each other. \nAs we move into relationships\, we come to understand the cultural lens through which we see the world. How a person sees the world is how a person acts toward the world. \nThis is the first module of a 4-part series. You are encouraged (but not required) to also register for as many of the other modules as you are able to attend: \nModule 2: Seeing with a Native Eye — Saturday\, January 24th\, 2026 \nModule 3: Colonization — Saturday\, February 7th\, 2026 \nModule 4: Decolonization — Saturday\, February 21st\, 2026 \nThis is a virtual presentation. Please register below to get the zoom link and the suggested reading.
