SUMMARY:Weaving Paths of Liberation: Indigenous World-Views & Buddhist Teachings
DESCRIPTION:Weaving Paths of Liberation: Indigenous World-Views & Buddhist Teachings\n\n\n\n\n\nWhen: April 2\, 6pm-9pm\nWhere: Virtual\nREGISTER HERE!\n\n\n\nThis three hour webinar invites participants to explore the rich confluences between Indigenous world-views and Buddhist teachings. \n\n\n\n\nWeaving Paths of Liberation: Indigenous World-Views & Buddhist Teachings in Conversation \nThis workshop invites participants to explore the rich confluences between Indigenous world-views and Buddhist teachings\, particularly as they relate to the idea of liberation: individual\, communal\, ecological and ancestral. Drawing on Indigenous relational frameworks (land-based\, community-oriented\, interdependent) and Buddhist insights (interbeing\, compassion\, freedom from suffering)\, we will examine how these traditions resonate\, how they differ\, and how together they point toward a lived practice of what might be called “Liberation Dharma.”

SUMMARY:Spaceship Earth Multimedia Presentation Boulder Arts Week!
DESCRIPTION:Spaceship Earth Multimedia Presentation Boulder Arts Week!\nWhen: April 6\, 5:30-6:30pm \nWhere: Junkyard Social Club \nLEARN MORE HERE! \nJoin us for Boulder Arts Week and celebrate the 56th Anniversary of Earth Day in this wonderful space that is woman owned and LGBTQ+ friendly at Junkyard Social Club in beautiful Boulder\, Colorado! \nAs a musician and activist\, I will be sharing my multimedia presentation with art\, photography\, science and live music (Laurie D) I created in 2012\, Spaceship Earth: What Can I Do? Ask yourself “What can I do?” You can be part of the solution! Have fun learning all kinds of simple acts we can all take to create more sustainable communities and this beautiful planet we share! \nOur precious planet is like a spaceship out in space. We only have so much water\, air\, resources that will NOT be re-supplied! The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) states that over 40% of our greenhouse emissions come from the way products are extracted\, produced\, transported\, and gotten rid of (even recycling takes energy). They also say that striving for zero waste is one of the easiest and quickest ways to fight climate change! \n“Spaceship earth is not really a metaphor: we’ve got one planet\, and it’s experiencing unprecedented mechanical difficulties. This presentation helps remind us how we can do our part to get it back on course.” – Bill McKibben best selling author and founder of 350.0rg \n“Laurie’s “What Can I Do?” Spaceship Earth is powerful!” – Jared Polis – Governor Colorado \n“This woman taught me more in an hour performance about what I can do to help save our planet than I’ve learned in the past 10 years!” – Stacy

SUMMARY:Standing up to the billionaire agenda: SURJ in conversation with Graham Platner
DESCRIPTION:Standing up to the billionaire agenda: SURJ in conversation with Graham Platner\nWhen: April 7\, 4pm-5pm \nWhere: Virtual \nREGISTER HERE! \nJoin Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ) in conversation with Graham Platner\, a working-class oyster farmer running in the Democratic primary for Senate in Maine. SURJ has endorsed Platner because we believe that his vision for taking on the divide-and-conquer tactics of the billionaire agenda by building the multi-racial\, working-class is exactly what we need right now\, not only to fight against MAGA\, but also to stand up to mainstream Democrats who are failing to lead us towards a country that puts people above profit. \nWith SURJ leaders\, we’ll discuss how his combat deployments in the Middle East shaped his anti-war politics\, what it will take to divert white men from the far right online pipeline\, and how we can work to expand our movement for racial and economic justice and stand up to the billionaire agenda.

Homeownership also brings financial advantages\, like tax breaks\, steady payments that protect against rising rents\, and a way to build credit.\n\nJoin Mr. Ashley Thomas III\, President of NAREB\, as he explains why buying a home matters and how it can help close the generational wealth gap.

SUMMARY:Reclaiming Our Sky: A Tale of Immersive Survival
DESCRIPTION:Reclaiming Our Sky: A Tale of Immersive Survival\nWhen: April 20\, 3:15pm-5pm \nWhere: Fiske Planetarium \nREGISTER HERE! \nJoin this immersive experience that reclaims the sky as a space of witnessing\, memory\, return\, and survival. The event is created by doctoral candidate at CU Boulder Naim Aburaddi as part of his Ph.D. dissertation project. \nPresented at Fiske Planetarium\, this live\, multi-dimensional show weaves together performance\, real-time livestreams of Gaza’s night sky\, and 360-degree visual storytelling. Through imagined skies and embodied realities\, the experience traces fragments of life before and after genocide\, holding space for loss\, resilience\, and imagination. \n“Under the dome\, the buzzing of drones dissipates\, and the sky is reclaimed as a source of hope rather than horror. Under the same moon\, I reflect on one of the darkest moments in modern history. Under the same sky\, I imagine a liberated Gaza to survive the ongoing brutal presence.” \nThis is not only a show\, but a collective act of remembrance\, survival\, and reclamation.

SUMMARY:Songs for a Sacred Earth: Alliance Center Earth Week Event
DESCRIPTION:Songs for a Sacred Earth: Alliance Center Earth Week Event\nWhen: April 23\, 4:30pm \nWhere: The Alliance Center\, Denver \nTICKETS HERE! \nJoin us during Earth Week for an evening of music\, reflection\, and connection exploring how sound\, spirit\, and story can deepen our relationship with the living world. \nSongs for a Sacred Earth brings together musicians\, teachers\, and practitioners from diverse traditions to share wisdom about ecological responsibility through sacred and expressive cultural forms. Through song and storytelling\, the gathering invites participants to experience climate care not only as policy or practice\, but as relationship\, one rooted in meaning\, resilience\, and collective imagination. \nCo-presented by Colorado Jewish Climate Action\, the Iliff School of Theology\, The Center for Earth Theology\, and the Alliance for Collective Action\, this event is part performance\, part convening space. It is designed to cultivate connection across faith\, spiritual\, and secular communities while strengthening the relational fabric needed to sustain climate work in challenging times. \nHeld during Earth Week — a moment dedicated to honoring and protecting our planet — this gathering asks: \nWhat might it sound like to care for Earth together? \nHow can music sustain us in the work of repair? \nWhat becomes possible when sacred wisdom and civic action meet? \nParticipants will experience live performances and facilitated moments of reflection in an immersive setting at The Alliance Center\, a hub for collaboration across Colorado’s climate and justice ecosystem. \nPerformers and practitioners will be announced soon. \nWe invite you to come listen\, reflect\, and connect; help us co-create a shared soundtrack for ecological care and collective action. \nWe want this gathering to be accessible to all. Scholarship tickets are available if cost is a barrier\, for students\, or if you need support attending. SUMMARY:Grief and Resistance Ritual
DESCRIPTION:Grief and Resistance Ritual\nWhen: April 26\, 1pm-2:30pm \nWhere: Boulder Creek near Main Library \nLEARN MORE HERE! \nPlease join us for a community ceremony honoring our personal and collective grief and giving voice to our resistance. \nThis year has brought profound losses\, both personal and collective – the loss of loved ones\, the devastations of wars and genocide\, of attacks and imprisonment of immigrants\, of wild fires\, floods and drought\, of beloved species disappearing\, of racism and gender violence. \nWe gather to honor these losses. Our grief is an expression of love. \nGrieving and singing together helps us build our collective power and remember that we shine brighter when we act together. It is through honoring and sharing our grief that we sustain our resilience and create the energy and aliveness for what is needed next. \nWe welcome all who will join us in peace and ceremony. We welcome you as you are: afraid\, angry\, sad\, numb\, unsure\, and those carrying more than words can hold. \nIf you wish\, please bring something to offer to the creek – a flower\, a stone\, something that will not cause harm to the ecology.

DESCRIPTION:PEOPLE of the SACRED LAND Film Premiere & Discussion\nWhen: April 29. 5:30pm\nWhere: Dairy Arts Center\nTICKETS HERE!\n\nWhat’s often missing from the conversations about colonization in the U.S. are rigorous\, comprehensive\, academically supported Native-led studies proving that— even through the lens of modern law— large areas of what we call the United States were truly stolen and remain illegally occupied. And nowhere in our country is the evidence and culpability more dramatic than in the state of Colorado. \nPEOPLE of the SACRED LAND follows Richard Williams (Oglala Lakota\, Northern Cheyenne) as he recounts the widely untold history of Colorado through the findings of the Truth\, Restoration\, and Education Commission (TREC) reports.
