SUMMARY:Igniting Liberation for All: Widening Our Circles
DESCRIPTION:Igniting Liberation for All: Widening Our Circles\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhen: Feb 3\, 6pm-8pm\nWhere: Virtual\nREGISTER HERE!\n\n\n\nLight the way into 2026’s Year of the Fire Horse – join a 2-hour immersive practice for renewal\, connection\, and collective liberation.\n\n\n\nWith the time of midwinter and the approach of the Year of the Fire Horse\, the invitation to set our intentions for our individual and collective work is upon us. While the past year may have felt the heaviness of the world and chose to look inward and perhaps even go underground\, now is the time to alight our connections with all sentient beings.  The work of liberation requires going beyond our boundaries of comfort and needs to include all beings. During this two-hour webinar session\, we will engage in lecture\, practice\, and experiential exercise that support widening our circles for collective liberation. Participants should be prepared to work with challenging material\, encounter difficult and joyful emotions\, engage in experiential practices including meditation and dialogue\, and to be in respectful\, compassionate community.

SUMMARY:Beyond Burnout: Mindful Compassion for Those Who Carry a Lot
DESCRIPTION:Beyond Burnout: Mindful Compassion for Those Who Carry a Lot\nWhen: Feb 17\, 5:30pm-7pm \nWhere: Virtual \nREGISTER HERE! \nWith so many demands on our attention and energy\, many of us experience a narrowing of capacity—where overwhelm sets in and it becomes harder to remain fully engaged. In this 90-minute workshop\, we’ll explore how to shift from strain toward embodied compassion by drawing on both contemporary science and timeless contemplative wisdom. \nTogether\, we’ll explore how compassion-based skills support responding—rather than reacting—to stress and overload\, and how we can intentionally awaken our innate capacity for aligned care when the weight of caring begins to feel like too much. We’ll examine key insights from research on burnout and resilience\, and ground them in experiential practices that help translate understanding into lived experience. \nBy the end of our time together\, you’ll leave with practical tools and an accessible practice to help transform overwhelm into compassionate presence—so you can care without collapse and remain open\, connected\, and effective. \nOffered as part of Naropa University’s Café Contemplative series\, this session invites you into shared inquiry\, reflection\, and practical skill-building—whether you’re new to contemplative practice or deeply engaged in related work. \nThis free workshop also serves as an orientation to our upcoming Mindful Compassion Training\, beginning March 10. Those who are interested will have an opportunity to learn more about the full training experience.

SUMMARY:Community Practice Day: The Earth Is My Witness
DESCRIPTION:Community Practice Day: The Earth Is My Witness\nWhen: March 3\, 8:15am-4:30pm \nWhere: Naropa University\, Nalanda Campus \nRSVP HERE! \nJoin us on March 3\, 2026\, for Community Practice Day—a day when classes and meetings are not held\, and when we gather together in virtual and in-person community. For our Spring 2026 Community Practice Day\, the theme is The Earth Is My Witness. \nAs spring emerges\, we gather for Community Practice Day\, to honor this sacred reciprocity between self and planet\, between awakening and care\, we are invited to remember what the Buddha knew on the night of his awakening: that the Earth bears witness. In that moment of doubt and clarity\, when he placed his hand upon the ground\, the Earth did not remain silent. She rose to meet him—steady\, alive\, saying\, I am here. I have always been here. \nThis gesture lives in each of us. When we touch the Earth\, the Earth touches back. In our moments of courage and grief\, of awakening and action\, we are not alone. The living world holds us as witness—in quiet recognition of our shared becoming.

SUMMARY:Weaving Paths of Liberation: Indigenous World-Views & Buddhist Teachings
DESCRIPTION:Weaving Paths of Liberation: Indigenous World-Views & Buddhist Teachings\n\n\n\n\n\nWhen: April 2\, 6pm-9pm\nWhere: Virtual\nREGISTER HERE!\n\n\n\nThis three hour webinar invites participants to explore the rich confluences between Indigenous world-views and Buddhist teachings. \n\n\n\n\nWeaving Paths of Liberation: Indigenous World-Views & Buddhist Teachings in Conversation \nThis workshop invites participants to explore the rich confluences between Indigenous world-views and Buddhist teachings\, particularly as they relate to the idea of liberation: individual\, communal\, ecological and ancestral. Drawing on Indigenous relational frameworks (land-based\, community-oriented\, interdependent) and Buddhist insights (interbeing\, compassion\, freedom from suffering)\, we will examine how these traditions resonate\, how they differ\, and how together they point toward a lived practice of what might be called “Liberation Dharma.”

SUMMARY:Songs for a Sacred Earth: Alliance Center Earth Week Event
DESCRIPTION:Songs for a Sacred Earth: Alliance Center Earth Week Event\nWhen: April 23\, 4:30pm \nWhere: The Alliance Center\, Denver \nTICKETS HERE! \nJoin us during Earth Week for an evening of music\, reflection\, and connection exploring how sound\, spirit\, and story can deepen our relationship with the living world. \nSongs for a Sacred Earth brings together musicians\, teachers\, and practitioners from diverse traditions to share wisdom about ecological responsibility through sacred and expressive cultural forms. Through song and storytelling\, the gathering invites participants to experience climate care not only as policy or practice\, but as relationship\, one rooted in meaning\, resilience\, and collective imagination. \nCo-presented by Colorado Jewish Climate Action\, the Iliff School of Theology\, The Center for Earth Theology\, and the Alliance for Collective Action\, this event is part performance\, part convening space. It is designed to cultivate connection across faith\, spiritual\, and secular communities while strengthening the relational fabric needed to sustain climate work in challenging times. \nHeld during Earth Week — a moment dedicated to honoring and protecting our planet — this gathering asks: \nWhat might it sound like to care for Earth together? \nHow can music sustain us in the work of repair? \nWhat becomes possible when sacred wisdom and civic action meet? \nParticipants will experience live performances and facilitated moments of reflection in an immersive setting at The Alliance Center\, a hub for collaboration across Colorado’s climate and justice ecosystem. \nPerformers and practitioners will be announced soon. \nWe invite you to come listen\, reflect\, and connect; help us co-create a shared soundtrack for ecological care and collective action. \nWe want this gathering to be accessible to all. Scholarship tickets are available if cost is a barrier\, for students\, or if you need support attending. Please reach out to our Director of Programs\, Jolie\, at jbrawner@afca.earth \nEvent Partners: Colorado Jewish Climate Action\,  Iliff School of Theology\, The Center for Earth Theology\, The Alliance Center
