SUMMARY:Return to Source: A Work That Reconnects retreat
DESCRIPTION:Eihei Dogen\, the twelfth-century founder of Soto Zen\, referred to meditation as a “Returning to Source.” Join Kritee and Eden\, two Zen teachers and climate educators in the Rocky mountains of Colorado for a “Work That Reconnects” retreat held in a silent container in which we return to source together through meditation\, embodied inquiry\, nature kinship practices\, relational mindfulness\, and rituals from the Work That Reconnects. Resting in compassionate awareness\, and listening deeply to the wilderness\, within and out\, we will restore our connection to source\, our original consciousness\, as the ground of equanimity\, compassionate action\, non-duality\, kinship\, and conscious response to the poly-crisis we face today. \nYou feel burnt out and/or overwhelmed and need to recharge in an emotionally safe space in the mountains of Colorado where we gently witness and honor each other’s experience? You recognize that everything in this world is imbued with intelligence and sentience and that we belong to this intelligent web of life? You want to support embodied changemaking in response to the poly-crisis we face today? Please come join us at the stunningly pristine and healing Rocky Mountain Ecodharma retreat center (RMERC) for a Work That Reconnects retreat held in a silent container designed for empowering anyone who cares about healing and belonging. You could be a parent\, community organizer\, healer\, educator\, activist\, artist\, scientist\, journalist\, lawyer\, author or storyteller working to inspire visionary change. \nNo prior experience is necessary. All are welcome! Space is limited to an intimate group.

SUMMARY:Boulder v. Big Oil Press Conference and Rally
DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Boulder County Historic Courthouse on October 5 for a rally and press conference in support of the people of Boulder. \nThe City and County of Boulder\, Colorado\, are suing ExxonMobil and Suncor Energy to hold them accountable for concealing the dangers of their fossil fuel products and to make them pay for the resulting local climate damages\, including more destructive fires\, droughts\, and extreme heat. Last year\, the Colorado Supreme Court ruled that Boulder’s case should proceed toward trial. \nNow\, Big Oil wants the U.S. Supreme Court to stop the case before the people of Boulder have their day in court to present the evidence against Exxon and Suncor. On Monday\, October 5\, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear ExxonMobil and Suncor’s arguments to escape trial. Let’s use our voices in support of Boulder County residents and demand that they get their day in court. \nSuncor and Exxon have known about the consequences of extracting and burning fossil fuels for more than 50 years\, yet they continued to promote and sell their products. Colorado communities are now facing billions of dollars in infrastructure damage from extreme weather such as the devastating $2 billion Marshall Fire. Why should we shoulder these costs while companies like ExxonMobil and Suncor Energy continue to rake in record profits? \nLet’s come together to urge the Supreme Court to reject Exxon and Suncor’s efforts to escape trial for climate deception. Together we can send a strong message to the Supreme Court from Pearl Street: the people of Boulder deserve our day in court to hold Exxon and Suncor accountable. \nMore information HERE

John Beard Jr. worked in an oil refinery there for decades\, as did his father before him. After retiring\, John watches Port Arthur get hollowed out economically\, while his neighbors die from pollution-related illness\, as more dirty plants appear and expand. Experiencing the devastation wrought by Hurricane Harvey\, John is called to fight back. He becomes a leading opponent of fossil fuels in his community\, including the latest extractive frontier: liquid natural gas (LNG) export terminals. \nVs. Goliath tells stories of courage and resistance from the frontlines of the climate crisis. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with activists from the episode. \nRegister HERE

SUMMARY:Protecting the Next Generations: Indigenous and Local Perspectives on the Future of Tailings Governance
DESCRIPTION:Tailings facilities are often discussed as technical engineering challenges\, yet for Indigenous Peoples and other local affected communities\, they represent a much broader legacy of mining. Often\, tailings facilities are unknown to communities; projects that are never fully explained in Free\, Prior and Informed Consent processes or consultation meetings. It is crucial to know that long after mineral extraction ends\, tailings remain embedded in Indigenous territories\, shaping water/food security\, health outcomes\, livelihoods\, cultural heritage\, biodiversity\, and the ability of communities to exercise their rights over generations. \nCo-hosted by the Global Tailings Management Institute (GTMI)\, Earthworks\, and Cultural Survival\, this webinar will focus on bringing together institutional leadership and Indigenous voices in a shared dialogue ensuring that mining legacies are governed in ways that respect rights\, protect territories\, and contribute to lasting social and environmental resilience. \nRegister HERE

SUMMARY:Remembering Earth: An Evening Lecture\, Practice\, and Q&A with Emmanuel Vaughan-Lee
DESCRIPTION:Join Emergence founder and Sufi teacher Emmanuel Vaughan-Lee this October at Naropa University in Boulder\, Colorado\, for an evening lecture exploring how an embodied spiritual ecology can offer us a way to respond to our moment of ecological and cultural crisis. \nIn this dynamic event hosted by the Joanna Macy Center for Resilience and Regeneration\, Emmanuel will draw from his new book Remembering Earth (Shambhala Publications\, June 2026) to talk about the role of engaged spirituality at this critical time\, and the universal elements within Sufism that can be applied across traditions to help root us in reverence and love for the Earth. In tandem with Naropa University’s practice week\, the evening will include a guided spiritual ecology practice. Following this\, Emmanuel will take part in a conversation and audience Q&A hosted by Dr. Monica Mueller\, who is a philosopher of ethics and social transformation\, and the chair of Naropa’s Eco-Psychology program. \nBuy tickets HERE: Tickets are offered on a sliding scale from $11.49–$32.49\, so you can select the one that best fits your means.

SUMMARY:Boulder County CROP Hunger Walk
DESCRIPTION:Join the 41st Annual Boulder County CROP Hunger Walk! \n🕐 Registration starts: 1:00 PM\n👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Walk begins: 2:00 PM \nFor 41 years\, Boulder County has come together with compassion and action\, walking side by side to help end hunger in our community and beyond. Every step matters; please join us in the fight to end hunger. \nLast year\, our community made a powerful impact by raising $55\,891\, bringing together nearly 140 walkers\, and ranking #20 in the nation among 450 walks. These efforts supported local and global hunger relief\, including $13\,413 for Community Food Share and $571 for Bread for the World Institute. Building on this momentum\, we have set a bold goal of $60\,000 to expand our impact even further. Every step matters: walk with us\, give generously\, and help end hunger. \nNote: Until we have a local treasurer\, please make checks payable to CWS/CROP and mail them to PO Box 968\, Elkhart\, IN 46515. In the memo line\, write the walk name\, walker name\, and team name. \nRegister HERE
