DESCRIPTION:📢✊ After We March\, We Organize! 🔥 Solidarity Warriors Indivisible Action Group 🗽\nWhen: Wednesdays\,  6pm-7:30pm \nWhere: Virtual \nREGISTER HERE! \nMass demonstrations like 🚫👑 No Kings prove one thing beyond doubt: the people are AWAKE and FIRED UP! 🔥 But rallying in the streets is just the beginning. The real power comes from what we do after the march. Research shows that no movement with 3.5% of the population in continuous mobilization has ever failed 📊 — but only when they go beyond demonstrations into mass noncooperation\, noncompliance\, and strategic action that dismantles the pillars holding up authoritarianism. That’s exactly what we’re here to build. 🛠️ Come learn the organizing skills we wish we had known from the start — and let’s transform that protest energy into lasting\, unstoppable change. 💪 \n📚🎤 Every week we feature guest speakers and training on topics like: \n🛡️ How to Protest Safely 🌎 Immigrant Rights 🪶 Indigenous History 🔐 Cybersecurity ✊ Community Organizing Tactics and much more! \n🌟 About Solidarity Warriors: We’re an action-focused\, Indivisible group 💥 born after the November election and proud lead organizers of No Kings 2 in Denver 🏔️. We’re people from across the nation — many in Colorado — united by one commitment: action over grievance. 🎯 We don’t just talk about what’s wrong — we plan\, organize\, and partner with marginalized communities to make things right. ✊🏽 \n🚨 Come ready to answer one question: What are YOU going to DO? 👉 Join us. SUMMARY:13 Fires
DESCRIPTION: An original stageplay by Boulder’s own Curtis K. Rogers. \n13 Fires tells the story of Indiana Avenue—once a thriving Black cultural mecca in Indianapolis. The Avenue was alive with jazz clubs\, Black-owned businesses\, and legendary performers such as Ella Fitzgerald and Duke Ellington. It was also home to Madam C.J. Walker\, whose success symbolized the power\, creativity\, and resilience of the community that built the neighborhood. \nBut this vibrant district did not disappear by accident. \n13 Fires recounts how a city was taken under the promise of “progress.” When the university now known as IUPUI expanded into the area\, property was systematically bought up and the neighborhood was dismantled. Through the threat of eminent domain\, redlining\, and sharply rising property taxes\, families who had built a flourishing Black community were pushed out and relocated into substandard housing. \nThe homes they were forced into were never meant to sustain life—but the people endured.\nThrough intimate family moments\, memories of the Avenue’s golden era\, and the painful reality of displacement\, 13 Fires explores the human cost of so-called progress. The play confronts themes of economic inequality\, systemic injustice\, and the ways vulnerable communities are often sacrificed in the name of development. \nAt its heart\, 13 Fires is a story about memory\, survival\, and the enduring spirit of a people whose culture and legacy continue to burn brightly despite attempts to erase them. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis event is organized by a community partner and hosted by the Boulder Public Library.
