We aim to help you gain a deeper understanding of how biodiversity shapes our world and why it is essential for the health and sustainability of our planet.

Nelson Heider-Kuhn is a guatemayan agroecologist with over 8 years of experience in organic and regenerative agriculture in Colorado. He holds a BS in Soil Conservation Sciences from Colorado State University. Nelson’s professional experience and research have focused on multifunctional agroecosystems and ecological development in laboratories at Colorado State University, agrivoltaics research, carbon dynamics and modeling research, and large-scale dryland agroforestry implementation research for local non-profits. He has a deep curiosity about how ecosystems function and can be regenerated through intentional collaboration with humans.

Nelson is passionate about all forms of biodiversity, notably insect diversity and the soil food web. Driven by this passion, Nelson has dedicated his life’s work to the practical application of agroecological design principles and the regeneration of degraded landscapes. Recognizing the fundamental importance of regenerative land management practices in the face of a changing climate, Nelson is committed to assisting in the growth and transition of traditional farm systems to a more ecologically integrated agricultural future.
