Saving Walden’s World Film Screening
When: October 18, 6:45pm
Where: eTown Hall Boulder
THE FILM EXPLORES:
-
How land reform, literacy and universal higher education dramatically increase well-being
-
How family planning, child care and public health programs yielded results similar to advanced European social democracies in “poor” societies
-
How many of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals were achieved by empowered women
Our international purpose has spawned interesting partnerships. One with “Creats International” that builds community resilience through sustainable agriculture and women’s empowerment in Kenya. Another partner is “The Kerala Forum on United Nations Academic Impact” or KFUNAI that is advancing the adoption of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals on college campuses. The Boulder-Based American Solar Energy Society has found common ground with their advocacy for sustainable living and 100% renewable energy. Cenna Custom Cycles of Longmont Co. understands that every hour of cycling increases well-being while reducing greenhouse gasses.
After Boulder, the film will screen at universities across Kerala India in partnership with KFUNAI and the former Finance Minister of Kerala, Dr Thomas Isaac.
