Words Before All Else: The Haudenosaunee Greetings to the Natural World

When: May 12, 7pm-9pm

Where: Boulder Unitarian Universalist Church

This program features a beautiful 20-minute film about the traditional prayer, “Words Before All Else,” which is central to the spiritual and cultural beliefs of the Six Nations of the Haudenosaunee (also known as the Iroquois). Their daily prayer gives thanks to Mother Earth, Elder Brother Sun, Grandmother Moon, water, animals, plants, and all other living things.

This film interpretation was produced by Dave Bowden of the Sustainable Media Network, also CRES’s 2004 president.

After the video, Martin Ogle, founder of Geo Sapiens, will explore how this daily prayer of gratitude inspires and guides our actual work for revitalizing our human relationship with Earth and how energy flows through the web of Life.

This event is hosted by the Colorado Renewable Energy Society, co-sponsored by the Sustainable Media Network and Geo Sapiens.

Join us in person at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Boulder (5001 Pennsylvania Ave, Boulder, CO 80303).
