What is a climate cafe?
Climate Cafes are physical or virtual spaces for community members to share experiences and feelings related to this polycrisis. We may be meeting on campus, in an actual cafe, a park, a conference room, a workspace, or really any gathering space that people choose to come together.
A Climate Cafe is a welcoming, inclusive, facilitated and on-off process in community, offering space to explore our personal impact in regards to this crisis and to practice deep listening to both others and ourselves. By courageously speaking up about our climate feelings, we normalize them for ourselves, but also become an active participant in breaking the collective silence. There is no other agenda, no pressure to take action, no need to bring solutions. No expectation to do or fix.
Just an open invitation to share for a while with others who also care.

The Climate Emotional Resilience Institute (CERI) is an international collaborative organization founded in 2023 to help navigate the complex emotional responses to climate change. As climate-aware psychotherapists, psychologists and other helping professionals around the world working at the intersection of mental health and climate change, we believe that emotional resilience is a needed, foundational resource necessary to move through the ongoing effects of this crisis.
We come together in support, solidarity and mutual learning. We offer online and in-person workshops, talks and consultation on the topic of mental health and climate change.
