Get Started with Mindful Birding
When: February 11, 6:15pm-7:45pm
Where: Virtual
Are you or your chapter looking for new, exciting, and inclusive ways to connect people to birds and nature? Consider incorporating mindful birding into your programs!
Mindful birding combines mindfulness practices with the joy of observing birds. The practice is gaining popularity for the health benefits of slowing down and immersing oneself in nature. It can be done almost anywhere by anyone, making it a great way to introduce new people to the joys of being outdoors with birds!
You’re invited to a special virtual event for Audubon chapters in Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming who want to learn how to lead mindful birding workshops or incorporate the practice into their existing programs. Join us on Tuesday, February 11, for Get Started with Mindful Birding, a webinar all about the Mindful Birding Project hosted by Fort Collins Audubon Society.
Workshop participants will leave the event with an overview of what it might look like to:
Organize and host a mindful birding experience
Incorporate inclusive and accessible practices into their existing programs
Spark and rekindle an appreciation of birds and nature in others
Because of the popularity of mindful birding at the 2023 Audubon Leadership Conference in Estes Park, Colorado, we’re offering this special session to Audubon chapters. Join us to learn how to host a mindful birding experience for nature lovers in your community.
Birding is for Everyone!
This event is co-hosted by Fort Collins Audubon Society and Audubon Rockies. Funding for the Mindful Birding Project event series was provided by a National Audubon Society Audubon in Action grant.
