Native Bees and the Emergence of “Pollinator Districts” in Boulder County
When: Oct 17, 6:30pm
Where: Lafayette Library
NO RSVP REQUIRED
This program will provide an overview of the diversity and ecology of native bees in Boulder County. Wild bees play an integral role in both natural and agroecosystems. Understanding the impacts of human environmental change on wild bee communities is thus paramount to agriculture and bee conservation. Our presenter, Adrian Carper, is a research scientist with the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Colorado. This program will also highlight “pollinator districts” being developed in our area and how to plant yards and other spaces in a pollinator friendly way. The Butterfly Pavilion, Friends of Coal Creek and Lafayette Chamber of Commerce join Lafayette Open Space in supporting this program.
No RSVP is required, but contact Martin Ogle at Martin.Ogle@LafayetteCO.gov for more information.
