Our Work in the Days Ahead: a conversation for antiracist white people with Angela Davis
When: January 16, 6:00-7:00pm
Where: Virtual
What lessons from past freedom struggles can help us face our present political reality? How do we adapt to dire, shifting circumstances without losing sight of a long-haul vision for change? Where do we find hope?
Join SURJ to explore these questions and more with Dr. Angela Davis, a key leader in movements for racial, economic, and gender justice for the last 50 years. From prison abolition to Palestinian solidarity, Dr. Davis’ writing, activism, and teachings have shaped our modern movements for change. In this conversation, Dr. Davis will ground us in lessons from revolutionary movements around the globe and offer her assessment of where we go from here.
SURJ is the largest organization in the US that explicitly organizes white communities for justice. We work to undermine the power of the far right and mobilize majority-white communities into multi-racial movements for change. All are welcome to join this conversation.
