In October, the International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers is celebrating their 20th anniversary at a conference called, “We Are All Related: Unearthing the Roots of our Shared Humanity.” In this webinar, we will be honored to hear from one of the Grandmothers, Mona Polacca, whose Native identities are Havasupai, Hopi and Tewa.

Grandmother Mona will share the healing wisdom she has learned from her Native traditions and from her experience with the Grandmothers.

Grandmother Mona has served as treasurer of her tribe, the Colorado River Indian Tribes. She is a participant in the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues and serves as the Indigenous Water Ethics Project Coordinator with the Indigenous Environmental Network. She holds an M.S.W degree and has worked, presented, and published on health and social issues affecting Indigenous peoples. She works to preserve and protect Indigenous practices and ceremonies, including the right to use their earth-based medicines. Her spiritual practice is grounded in the Havasupai, Hopi, and Tewa Original Instructions and the Native American Church.
