Thinking Like Water film Screening with Filmmaker
When: April 26, 5-7:30pm
Where: Odd Fellows Lounge Boulder
Join WRV and sponsors Cool Boulder and IOOF Boulder Lodge #9 for connection, education, and inspiration at a film screening, and stay for an in-person Question and Answer session with the filmmaker and subject of the film.
Thinking Like Water docuseries follows restoration pioneer Bill Zeedyk and his collaborators as they transform degraded watersheds into more resilient ecosystems girding against the ravages of drought and climate change. We’ll screen episode two in the series, All about a Bird: 1000 Acts of Restoration which highlights the endangered Gunnison Sage Grouse and how a host of partnerships and private landowners are pulling together to save this unique bird.
There is a suggested donation of $15-20 dollars for the event to assist with covering costs, but nobody will be turned away for lack of funds. You can either make a donation here or you may donate at the door. If donating online, please put “Thinking Like Water Film” in the notes field.
Special Guests:
Bill Zeedyk
Water whisperer Bill Zeedyk is a legend in the ecological restoration community. Zeedyk coaxes straightened streams back to natural meandering courses, lifts creeks, raises water tables, and re-creates lost habitats. All while using simple restoration techniques he designed or innovated upon. These techniques now benefit Colorado through Wildlands Restoration Volunteers, staff, and our restoration sites from Campbell Valley in Northern Colorado to Moffat County to Gunnison Basin.
