Come join BVSD students and families of all ages who want to encourage the BVSD School Board to sign a Green New Deal for BVSD. Fairview Net-Zero club members and some HS students from across the county have been working tirelessly to encourage the board to sign the resolution summarized below. We are hoping that people of ALL ages will pack the board room on Tuesday night.
A multi-generational group of climate activists will walk in the parade with signs such as: I Love Heat Pumps! Electrify Everything! Choose Solar Energy! Get an Induction Stove! etc...
Support early-childhood education center Treehouse Learning and give back for Earth Day! This will be a small volunteer gardening event open to the public. Tasks will include scattering wildflower seeds, creating wildlife habitat, spreading compost for new pollinator gardens, assembling raised garden beds, moving stones, and picking up trash in the neighborhood.
Play a role in the creation of a green economy at this program connecting green businesses with youth in our community. All are welcome! This event will include short presentations by business representatives about how and why they are "going green," a panel discussion with students, and time for audience / panelist Q&A.
Join us for the Town’s annual Arbor Day celebration on April 27th from 10 a.m. - noon. This is a FREE, family-friendly event for all ages, focused on promoting and supporting environmental sustainability. "Green"-focused entertainment and educational opportunities will be plentiful. Please also join us in the traditional Tree City USA tree-planting ceremony where all are welcome to help us plant more trees in Purple Park!
Marshall ROC in collaboration with Globalsound Studios is hosting a Teen ROC Fest on May 4th from 6-8:30 pm at the Superior Community Center, 1500 Coalton Rd, Superior, CO 80027
This is a free event for area teens ages 13-18. All are invited to join in the fun. Music, Food, Beverages, Photo Booth, prizes, book giveaways, wellness resources and more will all be available. May the Fourth be With You!
All, including beginning birders, are invited to experience the fun and discovery of bird watching at the Greenlee Wildlife Preserve on the first Sunday of each month year-round. Knowledgeable bird watchers will be on hand with binoculars, spotting scopes, and learning tools to assist in the fun activity of identifying birds in their natural habitats.
