Professor Carpenter is the Council Tree Professor of Law and Director of the American Indian Law Program at the University of Colorado Law School. She was appointed to the United Nations Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples as its member from North America from 2017-2021. During the Biden administration, she was an advisor to U.S. Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland on international legal issues affecting Indigenous Peoples.

Using the Jewish Studio Process - a unique methodology combining practices from the field of art therapy with a reimagined approach to Jewish learning and spirituality - we’ll nurture the seeds of our wild imagination, allowing them to gestate in the soil of our soul.
In this 2-hour participatory program, we experience the history of the colonization of Turtle Island, the land that is now known as the United States. The story is told through the words of Indigenous leaders, European/American leaders, and Western historians. We engage with this history through experiential exercises and small group discussions.
