Colorado Microgrid Roadmap Draft Overview

The Colorado State Team is releasing the draft Microgrid Roadmap per HB22-1249 concerning the creation of a roadmap for improving resilience and reliability of electric grids within the state.

Wildflowers and Their Friends

Let’s welcome wildflower season at Caribou Ranch! We’ll walk up to three miles through this gem of an open space searching for wildflowers and the creatures that love them. Each participant will get a mini-field guide covering the plants currently in bloom. The guide also lists some butterflies, bees, and mammals that wildflowers attract. Along the way, we’ll highlight the fascinating relationships between plants and the living world around them.

The Yip about Prairie Dogs

These fascinating creatures are more than cute little rodents who chew up the grass. This presentation is both fun and informative. It looks at the history, ecology, social structure, life cycle, behavior, and language of this keystone species — the pillar of the prairie.

Fun on the Farm: Piggies!

Agricultural Heritage Center 8348 Ute Hwy, Longmont, CO 80503

Children ages 3-6 will love to visit the farm to learn about animals, plants, and agricultural life. Piggies! program shares a great pig story and then we get to meet our pigs in person! All programs include a short story time, hands-on activities, and a take-home craft. Afterwards, explore the farm. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Pollinators introduces kids to the pollinators all around us and then they get to create their own butterfly! All programs include a short story time, hands-on activities, and a take-home craft. Afterwards, explore the farm. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

High Country Exploration! Kids Program

Using games and activities, we will learn how to use our senses to find the stories of the plants and animals living at Mud Lake Open Space. Find animal signs, identify the many trees, and explore the amazing diversity of plants and animals. How many will you find? This program is geared toward children ages 6-8, but all are welcome.
