Please join us for our first Annual Wichahpi Fundraiser for Creative Nations. Creative Nations is an artist collective located at the Dairy Arts Center, dedicated to the uplifting and highlighting Indigenous Identities within the art world, giving them the space to exist and to be recognized for their talents.

‘Wichahpi’ translates to star in the Lakota language and is integral to understanding Lakota culture. We are born from the stars and when we pass on, we return to the stars. It is intertwined with a person’s spirit and being, commonly symbolized through the gift of Starquilts which mark important life events related to honor and generosity. In the spirit of Wichahpi, we will host a Starquilt raffle to highlight the importance of supporting Native artists.

This community luncheon is an opportunity to celebrate Native arts and culture through performance and community dance, learn about Creative Nations’ initiatives such as the Annual Native American Heritage Month Arts Market, year-round visual arts programming in our Sacred Space, and expanding educational programs, while providing direct support to a thriving Native arts scene in your community.
