Louisville Grasslands Spring Field Trip

Davidson Mesa Trailhead South 80th Street Boulder, CO 80303

Join Louisville Open Space, the Boulder Watershed Collective, Grama Grass & Livestock, the Louisville Fire Protection district, and Wildfire Partners to take a short walk in our local grasslands and learn about some of the nuances involved in planning and managing these landscapes. We'll start at the Davidson Mesa Trailhead, and from there we'll take a mellow walk (a mile or less), interspersed with stops to discuss what we see and how management objectives are approached on the ground. Cows will be actively grazing the landscape at Davidson Mesa during this time, so we can see their work in action and learn about their role in supporting grassland management objectives.

Longmont Farmers Market

The Boulder County Fairgrounds (9595 Nelson Road, Longmont, CO 80501). 9595 Nelson Road, Longmont

Long before Longmont was know as a bustling tech center, it was sustained by thousands of acres of farmland — starting with the establishment of a flour mill in 1887, and later with the vegetable cannery built in 1889. These days, Longmont farms provide much more than just sugar beets, and preserved farm land in Longmont and beyond helps fill our market with fresh, seasonal vegetables, dairy products, and Colorado-raised meats. We’re proud to be a growers-only market, meaning every product at the Longmont Farmers Market is created locally and sold by the vendors who produce it.
