Boulder, Colorado prides itself on being beautiful, welcoming, and inclusive. However, in 2019, racially charged and dangerous policing involving a Black university student made national news. The documentary film, This Is Who We Are, explores the gap between Boulder's self-image and the more complex lived experiences --both historical and contemporary-- of its Black citizens.

Hosted at Elk Run Farm in Lyons, CO, over the span of 3 Wednesday summer evenings, you can be sure to learn about how to take raw ingredients from the garden and turn them into delicious, nutrient dense foods that can last you deep into the winter & provide nourishment throughout the year. At Elk Run Farm, the land stewards eat about 90% of their diets from our 1/3 of an acre forest garden and parking-lots-turned-grain-fields, thanks to these tried and true methods of preserving, canning and homesteading.

The Boulder County Area Agency on Aging is sponsoring a Project Visibility general training complete with a screening of the new Project Visibility documentary! This updated version of the documentary features local Rainbow Elders (LGBTQ+/50+) who are living and experiencing life in the state of Colorado. They share their stories, so we can make visible the differences that exist within the LGBTQ+ community.

Cultural Organizations Summit: Preparing for Climate Impacts

Climate change is accelerating and intensifying. All ten of the hottest years on record have occurred since 2005. The 2013 flood and 2021 Marshall Fire are just two examples of catastrophic impacts playing out close to home. We are approaching a critical juncture in confronting the climate crisis, and Boulder's arts and culture community has an important role to play. At our next summit of cultural nonprofit leadership, we will talk about the best ways for organizations to plan for and actively address climate impacts.
