Students will explore the diverse world of bees and learn how to tell them apart. They will also learn about the challenges they are facing and how they can help protect these pollinators. This class will include introductions on the information and activity, a lesson, and support time for Q&A about the topic.
RMPJC was founded with a main focus of closing down the Rocky Flats nuclear plant. In coordination with AFSC Denver, Greenpeace, and numerous other organizations, RMPJC worked to end the production of potentially harmful nuclear waste. Over time, RMPJC became the foremost peace and environmental group working steadily for the best possible procedures to properly clean up the already thoroughly contaminated site. However, due to an improper “clean up” by government agencies, the efforts to clean up Rocky flats and make it habitable once again is still underway.
We will hear from legislators about climate and energy bills and their outcomes. Confirmed guests are Representatives Judy Amabile, Kyle Brown and Junie Joseph.
Join us to learn about composting in the county and have an opportunity to meet the commissioners and ask questions about this or other county issues. Please note: there will not be a virtual option for this Town Hall, however, all residents who cannot attend are always welcome to email commissioners@bouldercounty.gov with questions or to request materials shared at the event. The Rocky Flats Stewardship Council (RFSC) is currently undergoing a restructuring process. The RFSC is an organization of local governments tasked with overseeing ongoing monitoring and maintenance of the Rocky Flats area. It has a history of excluding public engagement, lack of public transparency, and operating under a conflict of interest through Department of Energy funding. For a matter of such great importance to public health and safety, it is essential that the public is included during this transition.

The Coalition of Natives and Allies is composed of 3 Native women and 2 non-Native women who have been teaching the truth about our shared history with the Indigenous peoples of this land. We strive to build bridges between Indigenous communities, allies, legislators, faith-based and non-profit organizations, state agencies, school administrators and educators in order to cultivate respect and end racism. After four years of doing this work, we have turned our educational program into a film under the direction of filmmaker Eli Noyes.
