Children and parents will engage in a fun afternoon of traditional games, music, and dance from West Africa. Children will have the opportunity to experience West African culture first hand.

Explore the wonderful world of birds in a beautiful place! See live birds of prey up close and view birds in the wild through spotting scopes and binoculars. Learn about migration, marshes, and the role avian friends play in our lives. Enjoy games, art projects, a scavenger hunt, a wingspan comparison with former Harlem Globetrotter, Nate Lofton, and door prizes. This year’s event explores the World Migratory Bird Day theme of “Protect Insects, Protect Birds”.

We will feature these on the Cool Boulder website as we lead up to the September event.
Ecotoberfest will feature over 50 vendors and exhibitors, a sustainable marketplace, an electric vehicle (EV) showcase, no-cost small electronics recycling, a Halloween costume exchange, a locally-sourced pumpkin patch, a bounce house, food trucks, face painting, a beer garden hosted by the Louisville Chamber of Commerce, and live music!

On Thursday, October 17th from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm (MT), the Longmont Museum welcomes NSF NCAR scientist Christine Shields for a lecture, "Atmospheric rivers in a changing climate: How rivers in the sky could change". This lecture will be presented in person at the Longmont Museum, and also online through multiple outlets listed on their website. Reservations are recommended for in person attendees.
