Climate Grief Circle

Virtual

There's a LOT going on in the world. Climate disasters, war and violence, political discord, not to mention the everyday challenges of work, family, health, etc. With so much happening, it can feel extra difficult to slow down to find the emotional and spiritual wherewithal to hold it all. How do we have any energy left to focus on organizing our faith communities for climate justice?

It's easier in a community where we can find connection and support to make it through tough times. And in our GreenFaith community, we are fortunate to be bolstered by our faiths. Please join one or both of these upcoming programs focused on just that.

Climate Change: A Planetary Theology with Shaul Magid

Norlin Library 1720 Pleasant St, Boulder, CO, United States

In the 1970’s nature lovers and academics used the term “ecology” putting the focus on relationships among living organisms. Today we understand the impact on the planet as “climate change.” Are these different or are they all synonyms for the same phenomena? Has the focus on science, data and research separated humans from our relationship to all the living things on earth? What price is paid by this shift? Shaul will explore elements of a theology of the environment that may have been sidelined when our understanding and promotion of climate science dominated popular culture.
