The Science Behind the Management of Cheatgrass in the Colorado Front Range

Virtual

Join us for our December webinar, with guest speaker Tim Seastedt, that relates to the ongoing conflict among weed managers, researchers and residents of Boulder County. The cheatgrass threat has been presented to us as an established fact requiring expensive, pesticide-intensive actions. The typical approach to plant species management is often uninformed and insufficient, given the complexities of the climate crisis. Over a decade of research on cheatgrass will be summarized in an attempt to clarify the impacts of cheatgrass on biodiversity and ecosystem services of the Front Range.

Winter Faire

Yellow Barn Farm 9417 N Foothills Hwy., Longmont

The winter holiday season is right around the corner, which means we all have the chance to reflect on our collective traditions. In the Western world, much of our holiday culture is centered around gifts — and if we participate, we have a choice between mass-produced objects and artfully crafted local goods.

Our Winter Faire holiday market on December 17th will be an opportunity to come out to the farm, meet some of these local artisans, and see the meaningful things they create.

Climate Grief Circle

Virtual

There's a LOT going on in the world. Climate disasters, war and violence, political discord, not to mention the everyday challenges of work, family, health, etc. With so much happening, it can feel extra difficult to slow down to find the emotional and spiritual wherewithal to hold it all. How do we have any energy left to focus on organizing our faith communities for climate justice?

It's easier in a community where we can find connection and support to make it through tough times. And in our GreenFaith community, we are fortunate to be bolstered by our faiths. Please join one or both of these upcoming programs focused on just that.
