Opening Ritual - Let us share our grief and our gratitude.
Between Tuesday December 26th, 2023, and Saturday January 13th, 2024, everyone in the community is invited to tie ribbons expressing your grief and gratitude on the railing of the pedestrian bridge across Boulder Creek west of Broadway. 

Write what you are grieving for on a ribbon, or simply imbue the ribbon with your grief without using words. Share all that you mourn - create as many ribbons as you feel inspired to. And create more ribbons sharing your gratitude.

We will be tenderly taking down and tend the ribbons hung on the railing of the pedestrian bridge across Boulder Creek west of Broadway between Tuesday December 26th, 2023, and Saturday January 13th, 2024, that express grief and gratitude.

Every year, the City of Lafayette honors the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a march and an event organized by the Lafayette Youth Advisory Commission (LYAC). The City of Lafayette’s 19th annual Martin Luther King, Jr. March for Peace event will be held on Monday, Jan. 15, 2024.
