Oren Robinson
Lead Tech Developer
Hi, I’m Oren Robinson (they/any pronouns). I live on stolen Kumeyaay land, also known as San Diego, California. I was raised on occupied Onondaga, Seneca and Cayuga Haudenosaunee land in so-called Central and Western New York State by a scattered, multigenerational, urban/rural, working poor/working class family of activists, artists and dropouts. I had early access to internet technology because of my family’s proximity to the US military. My mom taught me to build my first website while I was in public high school. Since that time, I’ve gotten to play a part in software, graphics and communications projects for community-building and systems change work following a design justice approach: co-designing tools and practices to address violence and support care work in grassroots community efforts, co-ops, open source teams, nonprofits, political campaigns, mutual aid networks, etc.
