Zack Malley
Digital Transformation Director
(ki/he/they) In my role for the BoCo Climate Justice Hive, I support the technology needs for the development of our Climate Justice collaboration tools and services. I bring an ethical, dynamic, and innovative approach to my contributions here, informed by my efforts in the Climate Justice Leadership Alliance, the pursuit of a master’s degree in sustainable food systems, and over 10 years’ experience flourishing in rapidly changing project management and technology landscapes.
I see my path here as an over 3-year long journey that started with a doctor’s visit, where I learned that my decades of brain fog, numerous mental health concerns, and constant fatigue stemmed from a health issue. With the support of my partner and kids, I/we radically changed my/our lifestyle and nutrition to find a thriving path forward. Since then, I’ve used my newfound clarity to refocus my career trajectory. After arriving in Colorado for graduate school, I went to my first Climate Justice workshop. There Renee Millard-Chacon (Womxn from the Mountain) led an Ally & Accomplice training that started with the wisdom, “We were all indigenous once, therefore we were all colonized once.” This inspired an on-going self-re-discovery and transformation, a focal point for my education and research, and the pursuit of a vision to support capacity building at the intersection of project management, technology, and Climate Justice.
Recognized as a collaborative changemaker and inclusive team leader, I am now dedicated to centering frontline community voices and working in solidarity with them to bring data-driven, systems change to a just future for all.
